MAP & Students Growth Assessment

ISK utilizes the American-based Measures of Academic Progress (MAP) assessment to measure student ability and monitor individual growth. During each MAP testing Session, students are tested in language usage, reading, and mathematics. The MAP test adjusts in difficulty according to individual responses the Student makes while taking the test. This provides ISK with reporting that is more accurate, allowing teachers and students to create learning goals that guarantee individual growth and skill development for every student.

Assessment Frequency MAP Growth assessments are typically administered three times throughout the academic year. ISK conducts these assessments at regular intervals to track students' growth and progress over time as a diagnostic tool.
Intuitive Assessment The assessment adjusts the difficulty level of questions based on each student's responses. It ensures that students are challenged appropriately and receive questions that are tailored to their unique abilities.
Learning Goals MAP Growth assessments enable teachers and students to set specific learning goals. Based on the assessment results, educators can identify areas where students excel and areas that require improvement. This information allows them to create targeted learning plans and set achievable goals that align with each student's needs and abilities.
Data-Driven Instruction The data generated from MAP Growth assessments provides valuable insights for teachers. They can analyze the reports to gain a comprehensive understanding of each student's strengths, weaknesses, and overall academic progress. This data-driven approach allows educators to make informed instructional decisions, adapt teaching strategies, and provide targeted support to help students succeed.
Parental Involvement Although the MAP Growth assessment scores are not included in the student report card, parents can view their child's assessment results, track progress, and gain insights into their child's academic performance. This transparency and collaboration between parents and teachers can support student learning and growth.
Professional Development ISK may provide professional development opportunities for teachers to enhance their understanding and utilization of MAP Growth assessments. Training sessions, workshops, or resources may be offered to ensure that educators are equipped with the knowledge and skills necessary to effectively implement MAP Growth and utilize the assessment data to support student achievement.
